IAFF Local 2442

The Normal Firefighters Association is the local member organization of the International Association of Fire Fighters, made up of certain employees of the Normal Fire Department.

The local organization was officially established on May 19, 1975, with 17 members, but now has 63 members, who, as employees of the Normal Fire Department, pride themselves in delivering exceptional service to the citizens and visitors of Normal.

Specific Duties
Several members hold specific offices or duties within the local organization, and nearly all of the members are involved in promoting Local 2442 through public education with the Survive Alive House; support of several local and national charities such as The Baby Fold, Special Olympics, Muscular Dystrophy Association, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, National MS Society, St. Jude’s Research Hospital, among others; and various other service opportunities.
