Criminal Investigations

The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is responsible for follow-up investigations of violent or serious crimes that require special skills or training outside those of the patrol officer. This division is responsible for the investigation of crimes that are more involved or require assistance from detectives outside the Town's jurisdiction. The division is also in charge of evidence / property management and intelligence analysis.

The functions and activities of the Criminal Investigation Division include but are not limited to:
  • Investigation of criminal cases
  • Crime scene processing and storage of evidence
  • Grand jury testimony for the entire department
The Criminal Investigation Division is divided into general investigations, financial crimes, juvenile crimes and the Domestic Violence Unit.
