The Town of Normal Parks and Recreation Department has two popular parks utilized for cross country meets and events. Maxwell Park is utilized for Jr. High, High School and college meets including the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) Boys and Girls State Championship for the 1A, 2A and 3A classes. Fairview Park is utilized for Jr. High and is a great local venue.
OSLAD funding was awarded in 2019 to renovate Maxwell Park, which included an updated design and permanent signage for the cross country course. The permanent posts and signage were installed beginning in Fall 2020.
