David S. Anderson Park History

In 1962, Normal acquired 10.5 acres known as Ash Park and the National Recreation Association developed a master park plan for the Town. In 1967, a survey showed the town needed a second aquatic center. A bond was issued to begin construction on a pool. In 1998, Ash Park was renamed Anderson Park after former Normal City Manager and Parks Director David S. Anderson. Since then, the park added several amenities which include a picnic area, playground, ballfield, basketball courts and tennis courts.

Located at: 503 E. College Ave.
